nantucket edit P:

Sandy pavement, hot with sun
Mends with tired cobblestones
Empty fields filled with restless grass
Reach to its wide beaches

So this is Nantucket; midst of August
Strolling through the heart of town
Making our way to the beach
taking in the atmosphere that follows

You feel like that; you feel like
Sharing many laughs, you feel like,
having too much fun, like letting
Your problems go out with the tide

So this is Nantucket; her arms stretched out
with the softest sand
smooth with the waves touch
yet still welcoming to new footsteps

With my toes hidden beneath the sand
The rays shine down with the promise of warmth
and that time will stop for my enjoyment
for the day is too perfect to rush

Sweet scent of Rosa Ragusa
Mellows our mood
So I no longer feel
Anger against those many tourists

Instead we feel like sharing a smile
For peace is plentiful
Problems are few
And the sunshine warm
