nantucket edit P:

Sandy pavement, hot with sun
Mends with tired cobblestones
Empty fields filled with restless grass
Reach to its wide beaches

So this is Nantucket; midst of August
Strolling through the heart of town
Making our way to the beach
taking in the atmosphere that follows

You feel like that; you feel like
Sharing many laughs, you feel like,
having too much fun, like letting
Your problems go out with the tide

So this is Nantucket; her arms stretched out
with the softest sand
smooth with the waves touch
yet still welcoming to new footsteps

With my toes hidden beneath the sand
The rays shine down with the promise of warmth
and that time will stop for my enjoyment
for the day is too perfect to rush

Sweet scent of Rosa Ragusa
Mellows our mood
So I no longer feel
Anger against those many tourists

Instead we feel like sharing a smile
For peace is plentiful
Problems are few
And the sunshine warm

the journey 2006

The Journey
Morgan Hunt

The blazing sun
Cast few shadows
Of many tomorrows
Forbearing promises
Of water…or life itself

Ma & Pa convey
With a sense of knowing
Though I question
Their better judgment
But, have no clue myself

The hot golden sand
Surrounds us
A dry ocean
Absorbing us deeper
Than we realized

Faith strikes through
We reach the Oasis
A shot of relief
For all the Caravans
We stop…
The beauty
Has us paralyzed.

We stand in a daze
Not noticing the sun beating down
Or the rough gritty sand
For we are indulging in the moment
This is why we strived
Long strenuous walks
Parched throats
Blistering feet
Just to be upon the Oasis
Fertile green land
Shimmering blue water
Makes the journey worth while

sunset 05

Reds and pinks
Scattered across the sky
The world changes
As the sun says good-bye

Tinted clouds of wonderful colors
The last rays of sun shine through
Wonderful thoughts start to float into my mind
And one of them is you

06 snow whispers

Snow Whispers

The silent whispers of snowfall
Dusting the tops of trees
Moving across the ground
With the slightest bit of ease

Bring lots of joy
With the secret of the holidays
Cheering all the little ones
On their gloomy winter days

Enlightening the world
Bringing things to life
The little gifts that god gives
Are always filled with delight

The blessings that we take
Not knowing what we are going to receive
Adds to our list of reasons
To truly believe

To believe in the holiday spirit
To bring it throughout our life
Doesn’t matter how we do it
As long as we keep it alive

sunflower march 07

Oh dew speckled sunflower,
How you glisten in the light
What truly give you the spirit,
For petals so yellow & bright?

Is it the vivid green grass?
Or the sparkling stars at night?
What truly give you the courage
That makes it worth the fight?

What is it exactly
That gives you all your might?
Is it the sun shining above?
The clouds, soft & white?

Whatever it may be,
That keeps your hopes up high
Never stop doing,
What makes you feel alive

nothing to write 05

Nothing to write
No thoughts in my head

Though I want to write a message
That no one has read

I cant find the right words
Not even a flow

My thoughts are frozen
But I want them to go

I just cant write
I need some inspiration

My brain is gone
Its on vacation

I want it back
So I can write something new

Something exciting
To share with all of you

oct. 05 a friend

A friend

A friend is someone special
Who has a place in your heart
You know it would be hard to live
If you were ever to part

An unforgettable person
Who knows your hopes and dreams
Someone you can talk to when your heart breaks
And they will sow back the seems

Someone you can laugh with
And even cry
Someone that would bring tears
If you had to say goodbye

A friend is someone that sometimes words cant describe
A person you can trust through a through
The clearest description of a friend
That I could find is you
